Transferring Calls Using Preprogrammed Extension Buttons

This section is for those that have coworkers' extensions programmed as buttons on their phone or expansion module.

A. Blind Transfer

A blind transfer is when you perform a call transfer without consulting with your coworker first.

Once you are on a call and decided that the call is to be transferred:

  1. Press the coworker’s extension button that you wish to transfer to.
  2. Immediately press TRANSFER to complete the transfer. (If the coworker pics up before you press TRANSFER it will result in attended transfer.)

B. Attended Transfer

An attended transfer is when you perform a call transfer and consult if your coworker wishes to accept the call.

Once you are on a call and decided that the call is to be transferred:

  1. Press the coworker’s extension button that you wish to transfer to.
  2. When the coworker answers, consult if he/she wishes to take the call.
  • If the call is to be transferred:
    1. Press TRANSFER.
  • If the call is not to be transferred:
    1. Press END CALL to end the call with your coworker.
    2. Press RESUME to take the original caller off hold and resume your conversion with them.

    C. Transferring Direct to Voicemail

    To transfer a call directly to voicemail, press TRANSFER then 0* followed by the extension number, then press SEND.

    Example: To transfer a call directly to your coworker’s voicemail at extension 101, press TRANSFER then enter 0*101 then press SEND.

    Note: If you wish to transfer a call directly to voicemail, you must use the extension number. If you have preprogrammed extension buttons or an expansion module (attached to the side of your phone), then you cannot use these buttons to for this function.
